Celebrates Scholastic Read for the World Record Summer Reading Challenge Winners
Wednesday, October 1
Tampa Bay, FL – Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ former linebacker and current Director of Pro Scouting, Shelton Quarles, announced the launch of ticket sales for his annual Celebrity Waiter Night before he celebrated the final winning school of his Scholastic Read for the World Record Summer Reading Challenge on Tuesday morning at New River Elementary.
Quarles will host his Celebrity Waiter Night presented by Fifth Third and Gardner Gibson Global at Raymond James Stadium on Friday, November 7th to benefit his IMPACT Foundation.
Celebrity friends will join Quarles in trading football for food to become waiters for the evening. Derrick Brooks, Michael Clayton, Jon Gruden and Vincent Jackson were among the celebrity waiters who joined Quarles last year in testing out their serving skills.
Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, four courses of world-class cuisine, fine wine and exciting live and silent auctions.
Sponsorship packages and tickets are available online at sheltonquarles.org. Tickets are $350 per guest and include a Tampa Bay Buccaneers Signature Series Football for celebrity autographs. All tickets include tax, gratuity and valet service. Outside memorabilia is prohibited.
Following his press conference-style announcement, Quarles concluded the celebrations of his Scholastic Read for the World Record Summer Reading Challenge winners.
Quarles kicked off the summers of Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas County students with his Scholastic Read for the World Record Summer Reading Challenge.
Students have been logging their reading minutes online all summer.
School-wide assemblies for the top reading schools of each county and a private party with Shelton for the top twenty readers of each of those schools have served as incentives for the Scholastic Read for the World Record Summer Reading Challenge.
Quarles has been busy celebrating with Perkins and Sessums Elementary schools throughout the past week, and New River Elementary was his last stop.
Almost 800 students of New River Elementary gathered with Quarles to celebrate their hard work on Tuesday morning. The top twenty readers enjoyed a private party with Quarles.
